Welcome to marimba nazi

Just to explain the title of the site, the term “nazi” is defined as “a person who is fanatically dedicated to or seeks to control a specified activity.”  It has nothing to do with Germany or Hitler, I promise.

This title that I have applied to myself was actually stolen from a friend (Matt Jordan), who uses a similar title, Timpnazi.  I became curious as to why someone of his stature would associate himself with a party such as the Nazis, and found out that the term “nazi” actually has significant meaning other than describing a once-powerful facist party in Germany.  When I discovered the word’s meaning of dedication, I decided to copy the title Matt came up with.  I adapted it for Marimba, because a “fanatical dedication” is exactly what I feel for the instrument.  It can evoke incredible and moving emotions, as in the solo “Northern Lights,” and also become a very powerful and impressive instrument with solos such as “Libertango.”  I hope you enjoy looking around my site; hopefully it will develop into something more soon, with some media and so on.

A Warm Welcome
